DISOP Phils believes that the success of the implementation of the project depends on the capability of its partners to efficiently deliver the services needed for their identified beneficiaries. Hence, a yearly technical training tailored to the needs of the partners is conducted to reinforce, enhance and build their competencies. In addition, an annual conference is also conducted as a venue for sharing experiences and updating each other. Besides, the conference is also designed to continuously link the partners with other partners of similar programs so that they may forge partenerships and collaboration in seeking and solving problems in the field.
Annual Training. In 2011, 16 partner-organizations attended the Fund Raising Training and Planning Workshop for the Board of Trustees of our partners. Is was a follow-up seminar of the 2010 fund raising training involving the senior managers of the same partners. The training helped the partners to understand the various roles and capacities of the board, in order to: a) have a greater appreciation of their contributions towards the work of the organization; b) better strategize the next fund raising steps the the organization may take with the board as key players; and c) find avenues to involve and incorporate the board to do the work of the organization better. The seminar ended with a formulation of an action plan for each partner.
Annual Conference. The 13th annual gathering of our partners was also conducted in 2011. It was hosted by two organizations in the Visayas, namely the Philippione Business for Social Progress (PBSP-VRO) and the Pagtambayayong - A Foundation for Mutual Aid, Inc. (PFI). Thierty-five delegates coming from 18 partner NGOs (present and former partners) participated in the conference on November 21-25, 2011 in Cebu City. It started with a field visit of the two NGO partners in Cebu City - PBSP and PFI. Then, the remaining 2 days were spent on sharing of respective projects.
