Livelihood Technical Training in the Philippines

 In the Philippines, PFI also provided livelihood skills training activities to its beneficiaries to promote self-reliance. They also help the beneficiaries in marketing of their products as a result from the training.

In 2011, PFI achieved the following: 225 individuals were trained in various income generating livelihood options to increase their income. of the 225 individuals, some 84 beneficiaries applied and practiced what they had learned from the training. These beneficiaries were trained to enhance their skills in the following: a) Weaving using the recyclables (below photo) which produced bags, jewelry boxes and lamshades b) Foord processing such as chorizo making c) Quail raising for quail egg production. To date, 38 members of the associations sustained their family enterprises such as pearl vending, consumer stores, peanut butter manufacturing, kropek manking, carenderia and quail egg production.
